About me

I am a Data Scientist doing data analysis and signal processing with LabVIEW. I used to work as a PostDoc in a neuroscience lab (Neurophotonics Lab, U.K.) and am working in a LabVIEW system integration company (U.K.) now.  I share my thoughts on LabVIEW here. Sometime I also draw comics. I am teaching myself machine learning at the moment and I am trying to implement more Machine Learning tools in LabVIEW. You can find me on @foolooo (twitter), @vanja (sina weibo) or linkedin.

  1. I think you meant Electronics engineering instead of Electroni engineering.

I’m in mechanical engineering, but I plan on folowing your blog, Days of phd is pretty funny, and might find some interesting stuff about labview too.

    Keep it up

  2. Hello! I work for National Instruments and I stumbled upon your blog. I was hoping I could ask you some questions through email? Let me know if that would be okay. Thanks.

  3. Hi foolooo,

Your blog is very interesting and I was particularly interested in the multiclassifier SVM as I am attempting to use something similar myself at the moment. I’m having a bit of trouble understanding the Machine Learning toolkit though and I’ve contacted NI and consulted the internet several times but to no avail. I wonder might you be able to help me? just a few questions about the training / test set inputs in Real Time?

    1. Hi Kelly,

Thank you for your comment. As I said in the post I am new to this area as well. I will try to help if I can. Do you want to drop me an email or write your problem here?

      All the best,
      Bo

  4. Hi foolooo,

many thanks for your reply I wasn’t sure if the comment would go though. Since I left the comment i have been working a bit more on it, i am just attempting now to set the classes. Hopefully I will come up with the solution! If I run into difficulty though I mite contact you again as you explain tings very well!

    Kindest regards,
    Kelly

    1. Hi foolooo,

I am just wondering if I might be able to send you some of my code and could you point me in the right direction as I’ve been in contact with NI several times and the forums but I am not getting anywhere. Perhaps your opinion might help as I am getting quite anxious about it now. The closest I came to success was using your SVM multi-classifier. If you have time to look at it what email should I use to send it to you?

      Kindest Regards,

      Kelly

  5. Hello Bo Fu,
I am a student of M.Tech final year, Control & Instrumentation branch.
I have less than one month left for my dissertation thesis submission.
My topic was Prediction model for disease using Machine Learning but somehow it is not relevant to my branch.I am therefore perplexed in this situation. Please tell me what can I do using Machine Learning LabVIEW so that it could relate to CONTROL & INSTRUMENTATION.
Please do reply (mail), I am in a very bad situation !
